The term Bungalow in India is perceived to be a mix of luxury and simplicity to suit
both urban and rural lifestyles. The robust and resilient forms of the British Colonial period have greatly influenced the architecture of Indian homes. This house in Gopalganj, Bihar, is an
attempt at a modern adaptation of the traditional elements of architecture from Islamic and colonial living to suit a simple and relaxed living. The client, who is an NRI businessman, bought this
plot in his hometown, with the vision of a luxurious house, inspired by the Mediterranean villas visited by him while travelling across several countries. At the same time, he wanted an
indigenous solution rooted in style and character of our country. The house is designed with spacious rooms, terrace gardens and large windows to experience the green setting.
